Omaha's newest concert venue is set to open in May 2023.

Omaha Performing Arts announced Tuesday that Steelhouse Omaha, located near 11th and Dodge Streets, will have its grand opening weekend starting May 12.

Planning for the opening performance has started and details will be announced at a later date, according to Omaha Performing Arts.

Steelhouse is expected to have a capacity of up to 3,000 people.

Last week, Omaha Performing Arts unveiled plans for a new $103 million facility along the Gene Leahy Mall.

The "Center for Arts Engagement" is planned to be built east of the Holland Performing Arts Center.
